Note: Addresses
1851 Johnsons Square, March, Cambridgeshire
1861 Whittle End, March, Cambridgeshire
Thomas the son was registered as Frederick Thomas and appears
as Frederick on the 1861 Census.
1871 West End, March, Cambridgeshire.
1881 West End, March, Cambridgeshire.
We have a strange entry on this Census. There is an Elizabeth
WHITTLESEY entered as daughter aged 30 which ties up with the Elizabeth
in this family, she is the last entry on the Census. The strange bit is that she
is shown as married and born in Oxfordshire. I would think both are incorrect.
I would think they have just put down WHITTLESEY as she is their daughter
and that she was living in Oxfordshire as we know she was born in March,
Cambridgeshire.
1891 West End, March Cambridgeshire as a widow
There was a Rebecca WEBSTER aged 22 a Visitor,
born Cambridge, Cambridgeshire with the family. Thomas Frederick and family
were living next door

1911 Litre? Villa, West End, March, Cambridgeshire as WHITTLESEY

Registered as Frederick Thomas with the same reference as Rebecca, daughter of William WHITTLESEY and Eliza DOCKERILL. The reference numbers would suggest that Fredrick and Rebecca were twins. William's first wife had died leaving him with two small boys. He then married Eliza and it would appear that very quickly they had twins. Perhaps looking after four small children proved too much for Eliza so William's younger brother and his wife, married just a few months, decided to help and bring up one of the twins.

Just a thought...the information for the two daughters on this chart came from Mary LAPSLEY from Australia....I canít find any births for them, nor can I find any death for them or their parents....perhaps this is the family who went to Australia...

So I have looked on Australian deaths and in Perth Western Australia there is the death I have shown, Frances COOKE is the correct age, ie being 78 she was born around 1880 and her parents are down as Frederick T and Sarah.
From that clue I have found a family tree on Ancestry.com which had given me a lot of the information for this family.

Thomas Hugh Robert ROSE appears on Electoral Rolls between 1931 and 1980 and his wife from 1937 to 1980. Mostly they are at the same address but sometimes Thomas is at a different one to his wife. I have only shown three of the entries, In 1937 they were not living at the same address in 1949 and 1980 they were.

The family tree on Ancestry.com shows two children apparently all still living, so no names given.

I have only found the emigration date for Florence Vera; Frances Doris was still in England in 1932 and 1933 but she must have emigrated by 1940 as that is when she married, she appears on Australian Electoral Rolls between 1943 and 1980. The first Australian Electoral Roll for parents Isaac and Frances is 1943 so they must have emigrated before then.
